NEWBORNS: If you are expecting a child, simply tell the hospital where you deliver that a physician at PAI will be your pediatrician. If you will be delivering at a local hospital (Lutheran, Dupont, or Parkview) one of our physicians will examine your child each day of your hospital stay, and then we will typically see your newborn in our office within one week of his or her birthday. The physician that sees your child in the hospital will inform you of when your child needs to be seen in our office. If you will be delivering outside of the Fort Wayne area, we will still be happy to see your newborn at his or her first well child exam when he or she is approximately one week old. Please note that you have 30 days to notify your insurance carrier of your child's birth! Feel free to contact our office if you wish to meet one of our physicians prior to the birth of your child for what we call an "Expectant Parent Talk". To make your first appointment or to schedule an Expectant Parent Talk, contact Patient Relations at (260) 918-2598.

In accordance with ACIP recommendations, we are offering Tdap aka Adacel (Tetanus with Pertussis) vaccinations for all parents of newborns.  If the mother did not receive her shot during pregnancy or immediately postpartum, we are able to give this immunization at the baby's first visit.  We will offer this to both parents!  You will be asked when scheduling your baby's first visit if you would also like to schedule your Adacel.  Please download the Adacel pamphlet or view the Adacel Information Sheet to learn more. If you choose to receive this vaccine in our office, we ask that you complete our Parent Registration Form prior to your visit.  You may either mail, fax, or bring this form in with you to your first visit.

For your convenience you may download our Patient Registration Form and complete for your newborn prior to your visit! You may either mail, fax, or bring this form with you to your first visit.

As a courtesy to you, our office confirms all appointments one day in advance. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call our office to cancel or reschedule.
